To the Rescue
Recently, my family discovered the Idaho Falls Rescue Mission. I had been driving past one of their facilities all Summer, and each time I drove past, I felt this strong desire to stop in and see what they do. Well, I finally did!
Here is their Mission statement:
“We exist to provide help, hope and a future to the hungry, homeless and hopeless in our community through the power and love of Jesus Christ.”
After meeting staff and volunteers, and after a really rewarding volunteer opportunity that my family participated in, I feel strongly about endorsing their work. Did you know they serve a hot meal for100+ individuals 365 days a year?! This is staggering to me!
Like us, many of you already make generous donations to help the less fortunate through your church. This is a really good thing. What impresses me about volunteering with the Rescue Mission is the direct connection to individuals, their stories. It is powerful to look someone in the eye, to shake their hand, to visit with them and listen.
I am so impressed by the impact the Rescue Mission has had on our city - by the sincere, selfless devotion to individuals.
Please consider what you can do to support their Mission to rescue individuals and families and to give hope, blessings, and fresh chances.
